Box Score

LAKELAND, Fla.--Candace Smith led Warner University past Southeastern 75-58, Friday evening, in a Sun Conference-Polk County showdown.

Smith scored 19 second half points and finished 10-for-16 from the field, 4-of-7 from three-point land, and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. She also pulled down six rebounds in the game.

Warner jumped out early on the Fire and built a 42-26 halftime lead, as the Lady Royals cashed in on seven three-pointers in the half.

Southeastern had only three fewer field goals than Warner in the first half, but the seven three-pointers made by Warner helped the team build the large halftime lead.

The Southeastern defense put up a strong effort in the second half, holding Warner to just 31% shooting, but the Lady Fire had no answer for Smith in the end.

Warner's Shawnelle Campbell ended with 19 points, five rebounds, and four assists, while Tracy Gentry chipped in with 12 points.

Southeastern was led by Ashley Wilson's 20 points and six rebounds. Casey Jensen added 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Breckley Neale came off the bench to score nine points.

Southeastern is now 11-16 overall and 5-8 within the Sun Conference. The Lady Fire will close out its 2010-2011 regular season by hosting Webber International, Saturday night, at 7:00 p.m.
