LAKELAND, Fla--The Southeastern men's soccer team lost another tough match, Tuesday evening, this time falling to conference opponent Florida Memorial University, 1-0.

Defense has not been a problem for Southeastern this season, but finding the back of the net has now become the Fire's biggest opponent, as SEU has not scored a goal in their past five games.

FMU's only goal came on a pass from Santiago Crosetti to Paulo Vaz, as Vaz took the ball to the front of the net and beat SEU Goalie Bo Giles early in the first half.

The SEU defense showed their resilience by holding the Lions scoreless for the rest of the match, and was also able to create some opportunities for the offense. Despite being held to only five shots, the Fire had some quality scoring chances in the match, but each opportunity was halted by the great play by FMU Goalie, Daniel DeSouza, as he earned the shutout in net.

Though Southeastern has lost five straight games, the Fire will have a chance to bounce back against winless Johnson & Wales University, Saturday, in Miami. The Wildcats are 0-10 on the season.

SEU will play two more away games, October 10th and October 15th, against Rollins College and Palm Beach Atlantic University, before finishing the season with a three game home stand, starting with Clearwater Christian on October 18th.
