Southeastern Suffers First Conference Loss
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--Northwood University routed Southeastern, 9-1, Thursday afternoon, handing the Lady Fire their first conference loss of the season.
No. 22 ranked Northwood was fresh off an upset victory of No. 10 Embry-Riddle University this past Monday.
Northwood standout Helen Lynskey scored four goals on Monday versus ERU, and added two more goals against Southeastern on Thursday. Valentina Agostinone and Maria Tornqvist also both scored two goals apeice. Annika Hogberg, Elina Landeskog, and Amber Brooks added goals for the Lady Seahawks.
Southeastern's only goal came from Lindsay Millar on an assist from Lorin Ressler.
Lady Fire goal keeper, Karleigh Smoak, made seven saves in the game as the Lady Seahawks outshot Southeastern, 28-7.
Northwood is now 5-1-1 overall and 2-0 in conference.
Southeastern is now 3-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play. SEU will next host Thomas University, Saturday evening, at 5:00 p.m.
