SEU Erupts For Four Second Half Goals
MONTGOMERY, Ala.--Southeastern University scored four second half goals to sink Huntingdon College, 4-1, Thursday evening in a non-conference match.
After trailing 1-0 at the half, the Fire overwhelmed the Hawks in the second half, outshooting them 11-3.
Freshman, Austin Welker, scored on a pass from Shawn Meek to tie the score, 1-1.
Southeastern then scored their next three goals all within a 12 minute span to put the game away.
Sophomore, Phillip Tull, scored the game winner off of an assist from Stephen Eppinger at 76:56.
Nine minutes later Stuart Branstetter scored from Andy Osborn to extend the Fire's lead to 3-1.
Just three minutes later, Eppinger scored from Branstetter to make the score 4-1.
Eppinger and Branstetter both finished with a goal and an assist.
Sophomore, Bo Giles, earned the win in net for Southeastern and made two saves in the game.
SEU finished with 19 shots for the game, while holding the Hawks to just nine shots overall.
Southeastern is now 2-2 on the year, and will take on Faulkner University on Saturday. Game time is set for 10:00 a.m.
