Lady Fire Signs Dunnellon Standout
DUNNELLON, Fla.—The Lady Fire basketball team looks to improve on the court next season, as they recently signed Dunnellon standout Showra Jackson this past week.
Jackson, is a 5’7” guard, and shined with the Tigers as she ranked as the second leading scorer in Marion County with 17.6 points per game, while leading the county with 5.5 steals per game.
With the Dunnellon Tigers, she was a three-year starter and team captain, and was best known for her remarkable defense, as she compiled over 250 steals her junior and senior seasons combined.
One of her top games last season came against Lake Weir High School, where she scored 23 points, collected 13 steals, and passed out eight assists.
Jackson was named First Team All-Marion County in both her junior and senior seasons. Additionally, she was a member of both the Marion County and FACA All-Star teams, and was a Max Prep Player of the Week award winner.
Academically, she was an honor student all four years, and was named her school’s ‘Math Student of the Year’ three years in a row.
Jackson continues to remain active within her church, dedicating much of her time with her youth Sunday school, youth choir, and the mass choir.
She plans to major in pre-med at Southeastern.
